Job Overview
We are looking for a Virtual Special Education Teacher to work with students with varying disabilities during the 2024/2025 school year. As a 1099 contract employee, you will be responsible for developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), assessing student progress, and creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with parents, administrators, and other professionals.
Use assessment tools and strategies to evaluate student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that fosters student engagement and motivation.
Collaborate with general education teachers and specialists to ensure effective inclusion and accommodations.
Employ diverse teaching techniques to cater to different learning styles and abilities.
Monitor and document student progress, behaviors, and achievements while maintaining accurate records.
Engage with parents and guardians to foster communication and involve them in their child's educational journey.
Attend faculty meetings, professional development sessions, and other school-related activities as required.
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Teaching/Special Education.
Valid Special Education Teaching Certification in North Carolina.
Previous experience with students with special needs preferred.
Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with best practices in special education.
Experience with virtual learning is a plus.
