Virtual Special Education Teacher - Alaska
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Virtual Special Education Teacher to join our team for the upcoming school year. Responsibilities:
Instruction: Deliver individualized and group instruction tailored to the unique needs of students with disabilities.
IEP Development: Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students, setting goals and tracking progress.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with general education teachers, parents, and other specialists to support students' academic and social-emotional growth.
Assessment: Conduct assessments to determine students' needs and abilities, and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
Technology Utilization: Utilize virtual teaching tools and platforms to engage students in a remote learning environment.
Compliance: Ensure all services are delivered in compliance with state and federal special education regulations and guidelines.
Communication: Maintain open and effective communication with students, parents, and staff regarding student progress and needs.
Professional Development: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in special education and virtual instruction.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Special Education or a related field (Masters degree preferred).
Valid teaching certification in Special Education in the state of Alaska.
Experience working with students with disabilities, preferably in a virtual or remote setting.
Strong understanding of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency with virtual communication tools and technology.
Ability to work independently and manage a remote caseload effectively.
