(VIRTUAL) EL Certified Special Education Teaching Need in Michigan
About the Role:
Are you an experienced Special Education Teacher with an ESL certification looking for a flexible, remote opportunity to impact students across Michigan? We are seeking a dedicated and innovative special education teacher to join our virtual team. Youll provide individualized instruction and support to K-12 students, helping them thrive in an online learning environment while working from home. As a 1099 contractor, youll have the freedom to set your own schedule and work independently.
Key Responsibilities:
A licensed EL teacher will support 9 EL scholars.
Provide virtual instruction to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring that IEP goals are met.
Attending EL meetings biweekly, building-based ILP meetings, documenting services, and creating/maintaining ILPs.
Conduct virtual assessments to identify students' strengths and areas for growth.
Monitor and document student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to promote success.
Collaborate with general education teachers, parents, and administrators to ensure a supportive learning environment for all students.
Stay up-to-date on special education regulations and best practices to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education.
Active Michigan Special Education teaching certification (required).
Experience developing and implementing IEPs.
Prior experience working in a virtual setting is a plus.
Strong knowledge of special education laws, including IDEA and 504 plans.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently in a remote environment and manage time effectively.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly pay (1099 contractor position).
