This role serves as a trusted financial partner to ownership and executive teams, ensuring accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance, tax optimization, and strategic financial planning. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and experienced working with small to mid-sized businesses, multi-entity organizations, or professional services firms in a remote environment. Key Responsibilities Bookkeeping & Accounting Maintain accurate general ledger records, including AR/AP, payroll, and bank reconciliations Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow) Ensure GAAP-compliant accounting practices Manage month-end and year-end close processes Tax & Compliance (CPA / Tax Advisor Scope) Prepare and review federal, state, and local business tax filings Develop proactive tax planning strategies to minimize liability Ensure compliance with IRS and state regulations Coordinate with external auditors, tax authorities, and legal advisors Financial Planning & Advisory Provide budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management support Analyze financial performance and key business metrics Advise leadership on profitability, cost controls, and growth strategies Support M&A analysis, entity structuring, and capital planning Virtual CFO / Executive Finance Act as a strategic financial advisor to executives and business owners Develop financial models and long-term financial roadmaps Support board reporting, investor updates, and lender relationships Implement financial controls, policies, and scalable accounting systems Qualifications Required Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 3–10+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and tax principles Experience working remotely with cloud-based accounting systems Preferred / Role-Dependent CPA, CMA, or EA certification Experience as a Controller, Finance Manager, or CFO Background in professional services, construction, real estate, or multi-entity businesses Experience with QuickBooks Online, NetSuite, Xero, or similar platforms Technical Skills Accounting software: QuickBooks, Xero, NetSuite, Sage Financial modeling and forecasting tools Advanced Excel / Google Sheets Payroll, expense management, and tax software Soft Skills High level of discretion and confidentiality Strong communication and client-facing skills Strategic thinker with attention to detail Ability to manage multiple clients or entities independently Compensation Competitive and based on experience, credentials, and scope of services (Hourly, Monthly Retainer, or Salary Options Available) Why Join Us Fully remote and flexible work environment Opportunity to work across diverse industries and business stages High-impact role with direct executive-level involvement Scalable responsibilities based on expertise and availability Apply tot his job
