About the Role Mercor is recruiting Film and Video Editors as independent contractors for a research partnership with one of the world’s top AI companies. In this role, you’ll leverage your professional experience in film editing, storytelling, and post‑production to design and evaluate questions that help train AI systems to understand creative and technical workflows in video production. This is a flexible, remote opportunity ideal for experienced editors interested in contributing to the next generation of AI and creative technology. 2. Key Responsibilities • Apply your film and video editing expertise to design realistic, domain‑specific evaluation tasks. • Ensure AI‑generated responses reflect authentic editing processes, techniques, and workflows. • Review and refine prompts and rubrics related to cinematic composition, cutting styles, and narrative flow. • Work independently and asynchronously to meet project goals. 3. Ideal Qualifications • 4+ years of full‑time professional experience as a Film and Video Editor. • Based in the United States, United Kingdom, or Canada. • Strong written communication and analytical skills. • Deep understanding of film structure, visual storytelling, and editing principles. • Ability to work independently with precision and creativity. • Remote and asynchronous — work on your own schedule. • Minimum commitment: 15 hours per week (workload may vary). • Project expected to continue through end of 2025, with possible extension. • Requires a desktop or laptop computer (Chromebooks not supported). 5.
