We have over 500,000 members and more than 60 smile-inducing attractions, making it the active play destination for kids and kids at heart!We specialize in hosting the most memorable celebrations through thousands of unforgettable birthdays, team, and school parties every year and have been recognized as a top franchise organization in Franchise Times’ Top 400 and Fast & Serious lists, as well as the Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500.JOB SUMMARY:The Vice President of Architecture & Engineering leads the end-to-end development of Sky Zone’s physical environments, experiences, and attractions—from initial concept through prototyping, engineering, production, and rollout. This visionary, multidisciplinary leader oversees a team of designers, architects, engineers, and fabricators to create compelling, scalable, and safe play experiences that bring the Sky Zone brand to life.QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Industrial Design, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in design, attraction development, themed entertainment, product design, or architecture, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role overseeing large, multidisciplinary teams.Ability to travel up to 40% of the time for site visits, vendor meetings, design reviews, and project oversight as necessary.Proficient in CAD and Revit for design and modeling.Exceptional portfolio of built environments that seamlessly blend creative vision with engineering precision.Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, assess project ROI, and apply design strategies that align with financial goals and capital investment plans.Proven ability to manage the end-to-end lifecycle of complex design-build projects.Competent in fundamental engineering principles and equations, with the ability to perform basic calculations related to design and safety.Strong understanding of engineering standards, codes, and regulations.Experience with value engineering and the national permitting process.Visionary leadership with the ability to inspire and align cross-functional teams.Excellent project tracking and organizational abilities.Effective communicator, able to convey complex concepts to diverse stakeholders.Skilled at managing large, geographically distributed teams.Strong collaboration skills with internal partners, external vendors, and regulatory bodies.Comfortable working in fast-paced, entrepreneurial environments with evolving priorities.RESPONSIBILITIES:Strategic & Creative LeadershipDefine and evolve the creative vision and design language across all park environments, attractions, and play concepts.Lead ideation of new experiences, integrating trend forecasting, market insights, and guest research.Champion a culture of innovation, experimentation, and purposeful design.Cross-Functional Innovation & DevelopmentOversee attraction and play space concepting, prototyping, and iterative refinement in collaboration with Product, Marketing, and Operations.Partner with Brand and Marketing to ensure immersive, on-brand guest experiences.Work closely with Franchise Development and Construction teams to ensure feasibility, scalability, and cost efficiency.Engineering & Technical OversightDirect all structural and mechanical engineering associated with proprietary attractions and park infrastructure.Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, building codes, permit requirements and operational requirements across all geographies.Build and maintain a robust innovation pipeline, integrating emerging materials, technologies, and interactive components.Team Leadership & Vendor ManagementLead and grow a multidisciplinary team of designers, architects, engineers, and creative producers.Build strong partnerships with external agencies, fabricators, and vendors to deliver high-quality, on-time builds.Establish best-in-class processes for creative development, project management, and design documentation.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:This position requires the ability to remain stationary while working on a computer for extended periods of time, with or without reasonable accommodation.This position requires the ability to move around and position self appropriately during site visits, with or without reasonable accommodation.Compensation range is $180,000-$220,000plus bonus opportunity,based on qualifications, experience, and performance.
