Vice President, Enterprise Architecture

Position Purpose: Leads the enterprise-wide architectural vision, strategy, and execution across all business units and technology domains. Responsible for shaping a future-ready architecture that enables agility, scalability, and innovation while ensuring alignment with business goals and technology standards. Oversees enterprise, business, data, application, infrastructure, and security architecture domains, driving modernization and digital transformation efforts in partnership with business and IT leaders.
• Lead and evolve the enterprise architecture function to support Centene’s business strategy and technology roadmap.
• Define and govern the enterprise architecture vision, principles, frameworks, and standards, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide priorities.
• Partner with product, engineering, data, and business teams to guide technology decisions and investment planning.
• Champion architecture-driven transformation initiatives such as cloud modernization, API-first development, data platform unification, and legacy system rationalization.
• Establish a modern architecture governance model, balancing agility and oversight.
• Build and lead a high-performing team of enterprise and domain architects, fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and trends to drive innovation and long-term platform evolution.
• Serve as a thought leader and trusted advisor to senior executives on enterprise architecture, digital strategy, and scalable systems design.
• Support technology risk management by aligning architecture with security, compliance, and resiliency requirements.
Education/Experience: 10+ years Proven ability to develop and implement enterprise-wide architecture strategies that drive business value. required.
10+ years Deep expertise across architectural domains (e.g., cloud, data, applications, integration, security). required.
10+ years Strong knowledge of modern enterprise platforms, including cloud (AWS/Azure), APIs/microservices, data architecture, SaaS, and DevSecOps. required.
6+ years Excellent leadership and team-building skills with the ability to influence at the executive level. required.
6+ years Strong communication and stakeholder management skills across business and technical teams. required.
6+ years Familiarity with enterprise frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or SAFe, and architecture modeling tools required.Pay Range: $223,200.00 - $422,900.00 per year
