Veterinary Technician Interventional Radiology

VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital is expanding its Interventional Radiology/ Internal Medicine Patient Care Team and seeking a passionate Certified Veterinary Technician! Compensation: $23 - $ 34 / hour The starting range for technicians is determined by license, skill set, and years of experience in the field. Snapshot of Our Internal Medicine and Interventional Radiology Team: VCA Arboretum View's IM/IR Technicians better understand body systems and the disease process, learn advanced diagnostic testing, provide excellent patient care, and treat patients with cutting-edge techniques. With the mentorship of our Internist and Specialists, our Internal Medicine Technicians have advanced training and a better understanding of Endocrinology, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Hematology, Immunology, Infectious Diseases, Nephrology/Urology, Neurology, Respiratory Diseases and Oncology. • Collecting patient histories and performing physical exams. • IVC placement • Obtain laboratory samples via venipuncture, cystocentesis, and fecal collection • Gather and prepare tissue samples for culture and histopathologic diagnostic • Performing laboratory work and diagnostic imaging • Assisting in diagnostic procedures such as endoscopy, rhinoscopy, and fluoroscopy • Working collaboratively with team members of all hospital services. • Calculate drug dosages • Anesthesia monitoring for diagnostic procedures and interventional radiology procedures • Assisting with postoperative care of the patient (recovery) • Maintain patient records • Client education and communication • Maintain a clean work environment to maintain any infectious disease protocols, handle medical/biomedical and infectious waste appropriately • Plus so much more! Qualifications: • Active Certification as a Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT) in good standing, or eligibility to obtain certification in the IL. • Strong technical skills, including: Venipuncture and IV catheter placement, anesthesia monitoring, and familiarity with fluid therapy, sample collection, and laboratory procedures. • Excellent communication skills and the ability to provide compassionate client education and support About Us: VCA Arboretum View Animal Hospital is a well-established, state-of-the-art facility, providing comprehensive medical care to our beloved pets.
