What will you be doing?Subsea7 has an exciting opportunity for a Vessel Operations Manager to join our Pipeline Group team due to an internal promotion. The Vessel Operations Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the operations of a vessel. They are the primary point of contact for the project, early engagement, and tendering teams, ensuring that all teams have access to the necessary information regarding the vessel's capabilities, performance, cost base, and technical library.During project execution, the Vessel Operations Manager works closely with the Project Manager/Project Operations Manager, Offshore Management Team (OMT), PG Package Manager and Vessel Superintendent to ensure the vessel program is executed according to schedule. With the primary responsibility of ensuring consistent and efficient ways of working, the role is responsible for delivering predictable performance while prioritising safety and compliance with industry standards.

Support Early Engagement Team to navigate vessel information libraries, guidelines, and procedures
Provide support where CAPEX/Business Case contributions are needed
Support Tender Teams to navigate vessel information libraries, guidelines, and procedures
Approve Vessel Offshore Schedule. Validate use of Vessel NORMs and identify schedule allowances and risks
Provide vessel knowledge and coordinate offshore crew input to onshore engineering including formal design reviews, and HAZID, HAZOP, and HIRA reviews
Validate installation procedures and project-specific equipment that is outside of the range of standard vessel operation
Ensure that appropriate vessel stability and DP assessments have been performed
Maintain a risk register for upcoming project activities. Effectively manage threats and opportunities
Develop a vessel readiness program, roles, responsibilities, and tools in cooperation with the Project Operations Manager and participate in its implementation.
Coordinate between projects to ensure equipment re-use and minimise mobilisation and demobilisation costs
Work closely with Project and Crewing teams to ensure that all visa, training, and medical requirements specific to the Project are understood and identified. Oversee crew readiness and escalate issues as necessary
Ensure that security plans are implemented according to the operation's region
Ensure that a mobilisation plan has been prepared in advance and that a mob notification has been circulated by the project
Ensure PG schedule management procedure compliance. Monitor and report on the vessel's operational performance regularly. Negative trends should be highlighted, addressed, and resolved
In the event of a vessel breakdown or HSEQ incident, ensure roles and responsibilities are clearly defined, communicated, and understood. Before returning to work, close all necessary actions.
Assure that HSEQ performance, worksite HSEQ reviews, safety observations and interventions, safety statistics and safety training are implemented, measured, and reported regularly, so that trends can be identified and acted upon.
Formally record cost of loss and take corresponding action
Participate in the verification of effectiveness process to ensure that case closure is validated
Engage in the role of safety advocate, sharing critical learnings and seeking regular feedback from the OMT to ensure continuous improvement
Validate the operations report and operational performance as built
Engage in debriefing exercises for projects, operations, and spooling
Ensure that lessons learned are captured in relevant systems for use in future Early Engagement studies, tenders, and projects

An understanding of vessel capabilities, operations, and experience collaborating with vessel teams and projects
