We seek experienced Vascular Access Nurses (PICC RNs) for a highly flexible PRN position. As a Vascular Access Nurse (PICC RN β PRN), you will provide expert vascular access care with a focus on Peripherally Inserted Central Catheters (PICC lines). You will collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure optimal patient outcomes through safe, efficient, and high-quality vascular access services.
Responsibilities
β’ Perform ultrasound-guided insertion, maintenance, and removal of PICC lines, midline catheters, and peripheral IVs.
β’ Ensure accurate catheter placement following best practices and infection control protocols.
β’ Assess and monitor vascular access sites to prevent complications.
β’ Administer and manage intravenous (IV) therapies, medications, and fluids as prescribed.
β’ Monitor patients for adverse reactions and complications during infusions.
β’ Educate patients on proper PICC line care, maintenance, and infection prevention.
β’ Provide comprehensive self-care instructions to ensure safety and compliance.
β’ Work closely with physicians, nurses, and healthcare professionals to develop individualized patient care plans.
β’ Maintain clear, professional communication with the healthcare team.
β’ Accurately document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in accordance with regulatory standards.
β’ Follow organizational protocols and best practices for vascular access procedures.
β’ Participate in quality initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and optimize vascular access techniques.
Requirements
β’ Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the U.S.
β’ Minimum 2 years of RN experience , with expertise in vascular access, infusion therapy, or critical care.
β’ Proficient in ultrasound-guided PICC line insertion.
β’ BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
β’ Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills.
β’ Valid driverβs license & reliable transportation required β This is a mobile role requiring travel between locations.

β’ Certification in Vascular Access (VA-BC) is highly desirable.
