US Content Writer for Story-Driven Travel Scripts
Job Description:
This is a remote, flexible freelance role paid on a per-project basis.
We are looking for a highly skilled US-based content writer to create engaging, story-driven scripts for GPS-guided audio tours across North America and Europe.
Each tour includes a mapped route with key points of interest (POIs). Your role will be to research these locations and craft compelling narratives that bring destinations to life.
What Makes This Role Unique:
We are NOT looking for generic or informational writing.
We ARE looking for writers who can:
Turn history into captivating stories
Create dramatic, human-centered narratives
Keep listeners engaged throughout the journey
Think of this as storytelling meets travel + immersive audio experience.
Your Responsibilities:
Research destinations (history, culture, landmarks, local stories)
Write engaging, narrative-driven scripts for audio tours
Transform factual content into compelling storytelling
Adapt tone for an immersive, conversational listening experience
Revise content based on feedback until final approval
Example of What We Expect:
Instead of:
“Central Park was established in 1857…”
We want:
“Imagine New York before Central Park existed — crowded streets, noise, chaos. Then came a vision that would change everything…”
Requirements:
Native US English (or equivalent fluency with strong US tone)
3–5 years of experience in content writing, storytelling, or scriptwriting
Strong ability to write engaging, narrative-driven content
Excellent research skills
Ability to meet deadlines and incorporate feedback
Preferred (Nice to Have):
Background in English, Creative Writing, Journalism, or related field
Experience with audio scripts, storytelling, or travel content
Interest in history, culture, or travel
Compensation:
$1500 per standard tour
$800 for smaller tours
Typical completion time: 20–30 hours per tour
Payment released after final approval and revisions
