Job description: Under the general supervision of the School Principal and CTE Director, plan and implement appropriate teaching and learning strategies, including strategies to meet diverse student needs, in order to effectively communicate the subject matter to students.

QUALIFICATIONS

Valid/appropriate Ohio teaching license in Workforce Development or have the ability to obtain a valid/appropriate license.

Ability to successfully engage students in learning and willingness to utilize technology to enhance student learning.

Ability to obtain Ohio School Van Driver Certification in order to transport students for field trips/CTSO activities.

Understanding of the importance of literacy with respect to the career field.

Pass criminal background check.

Comply with drug-free workplace rules, board policies, and other guidelines and procedures.

Note: Applicants not currently certified/licensed to teach must hold a high school diploma, have a minimum of five years? work experience in the career field and complete a Career Technical Education Program through an approved pre-service career-technical education teacher preparation program.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

? A Bachelor's degree or higher in Theatre Design & Technology, or Theatre with a concentration in Design & Production

? A minimum of 5 years? experience working in the career field, and ideally, some experience in youth theatre or similar educational institutions

? A wide range of work experience across multiple areas of Theatre design and technology, particularly: scenery design and construction, lighting design and programming, audio production, costume production, prop/craft work, stage rigging, stage management.

? Working knowledge of standard performance setups and practices in each area of performance art: Theatre, Dance, Band/Orchestra, Piano, Choir.

? Working knowledge of the following programs and technologies: EOS family lighting consoles, working on both Mac/PC computers, AutoCAD and/or Vectorworks, QLab, Photoshop, Google Suite, automated pit lift and lighting systems, theatrical rigging.

? OSHA certification or demonstrated knowledge of standard Theatre safety practices

? Must be able to lift 50+ lbs, be comfortable working on your feet most of the day, and should be comfortable working on ladders and lifts

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Clearly communicate learning objectives to students.

Create engaging hands-on lessons aligned with the career-technical content standards, district curriculum goals, and general workplace readiness by integrating professional/soft skill instruction into daily lessons.

Analyze student data from formative and summative assessments to plan and adapt instruction to positively impact student learning.

Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet diverse student needs and interests.

Participate in staff meetings, teacher-based teams, parent/teacher conferences, advisory committee meetings, professional development activities, etc.

Create and manage Work-Based Learning opportunities within and outside of the school to ensure each CTE student earns 250 hours by graduation.

Build and maintain an advisory board and meet twice a year to update stakeholders on the program and advise on the direction of instruction and plans for improvement

Maintain detailed records of purchase requests, orders, and receipts.

Be a strong mentor to CTE students and actively participate in helping them with college and career plans, interviewing, creating portfolios, researching schools, etc. Write recommendation letters as requested.

Utilize reflective practices to improve/adapt instructional approaches.

Maintain a classroom environment conducive to effective learning using the District's classroom management strategies/program.

Identify and engage appropriate business and industry partners to support instruction.

Establish and maintain positive rapport with students, parents, and other staff

Perform other duties as assigned.

OTHER DUTIES

? Maintain all equipment and technologies in the CTE classroom, scene shop, and Centennial Hall spaces, keep all required supplies in stock, and research and implement updates to equipment as necessary.

Adapt production work to the skill levels of each class of students, giving as much opportunity for student independent design as possible, and ensuring the highest possible quality of production for events.

Function as the Technical Director of Centennial Hall, overseeing all maintenance and continued upkeep of the space.

? Supervise all technical work for all events in Centennial Hall, and any adult or student crew members involved, including: all Theatrical productions, Dance shows, Creative Writing productions, Band/Orchestra/Choir/Piano concerts and recitals, academic events, athletic meetings, other District-requested events, rentals, etc.

? Production-manage the Stivers Celebrates event at the Masonic Center in December: get all technical requests from the arts magnet team, help arrange the program order, liaise with the technical staff at Masonic, lead the load in and technical rehearsal days, and stage manage the full event. Lead strike of all equipment/instruments as well.

? Supervise technical work for any events in Eichelberger Hall, as requested. Also advise on theatrical equipment maintenance and upkeep in this performance space, as requested.

PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES/DEMANDS

Frequent standing/walking for extended periods. Repetitive motions such as bending, reaching, stretching with hands and arms, kneeling, and climbing stairs.

Occasionally lift and/or move lightweight items up to 40 lbs.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is performed in a classroom setting.

Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.

Work may be subject to frequent interruptions.

Some assignments are subject to completion within strict timelines.

Periodic travel for meetings, professional development activities, and work assignments.
