Overview
The iCare Trainer/Analyst is responsible for the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of all training and education for the iCare electronic health record. This position will require the iCare Trainer/Analyst to receive a certification in the iCare applications they are supporting. Works closely with the iCare Analysts, Project Teams, and Credentialed Trainers to provide an effective and functional EHR and end user training to maintain high standards across the Riverside Health System.
What you will do
Develop comprehensive knowledge of relevant iCare application(s) and the infrastructure for the associated systems to support the needs of the project, project team, and operational leadership. Stay abreast of new developments and events from the Epic User Web. Provide technical and clinical/operational expertise. Communicate system functionality and capabilities while identifying alternative solutions to meet end-user and stakeholder needs.
In conjunction with stakeholders, validate and determine if the problem, need or issue is application, technical, or training related. Identify, gather and organize relevant information pertaining to the incident and follow up through resolution.
Communicate with Analysts and Credentialed Trainers to keep them informed of upgrades and changes. Participate as active member of 1-2 Integrated workgroups (Epic defined formal and informal/ad-hoc).
Proactively communicate and keep end users informed of ticket, access and training status. Resolve issues within given parameters. Participate in formal stakeholder meetings and communication channels. Maintain regular communication with Epic representatives. Ensure the workflow associated with changes is appropriate for the end-user.
Participate in workflow and configuration testing during upgrades and process improvement initiatives & test script creation and modification.
Provide training, maintenance and build for primary iCare application(s) and primary area(s). Develop and maintain the Master training environment including system enhancements and upgrades. Create and maintain all training materials including tip sheets and Learning Home Dashboards. Identify and implement opportunities for process improvement in support of iCare training initiatives. Develop, implement, and maintain credentialed training programs for respective iCare application(s).
Conduct ongoing evaluation of implemented solutions. Participate as part of a team in system configuration, on-going maintenance/process improvement, change documentation, and training of team members on application functionality.
Maintain awareness of Epic's best practices and RHS' adoption rates. * Maintain training environments, curriculum, training materials, and the Learning Management System for iCare application(s). Maintain Epic certifications and New Version Training (NVT). Complete system maintenance items as required.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelors Degree, Healthcare Administration/Clinical Information Systems/ Informatics/Information Technology or Sciences (Required) or
Program Graduate, Technical License (Required) or
High School Diploma or GED, and 6 years of progressive experience in the healthcare industry, preferably in an Integrated Delivery Network in clinical care, operations or IT system support (Required)
Experience
3 years of hands on iCare/Epic systems classroom, online, in-person and 1:1 training with adult learners (Required)
3 years of progressive healthcare (Integrated Delivery system) experience in clinical or operations setting, IT system development or deployment, experience as a clinical analyst, business analyst, systems or financial analyst. (Required)
Clinical experience in one of the following: OR, Anesthesia, Emergency, Pharmacy, Oncology, OB/GYN, or IT experience in CPOE, Clinical Documentation or Healthcare Operations such as billing, scheduling, access services, HIMS, or in-depth knowledge of ambulatory physician and back office nursing and specialty department clinical documentation workflows, care planning and patient education. (Preferred)
Skills and Abilities
Competency in at least one application area
Ability to communicate clearly and precisely in a timely and professional manner
Licenses and Certifications
Relevant Epic Certifications in at least one application area within 180 Days (Required)
