Student Support
The purpose of this class is to provide academic, mentoring and support services to participants in the TRIO Upward Bound Programs.
Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in the Global/Foreign Language being taught including but not limited to Spanish, French, Latin, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, German, Russian, Italian, and/or American Sign Language. Experience providing instruction. Teacher certification in the Global/Foreign Language preferred. Other related professional work experience accepted. New global/foreign language college graduates are welcome to apply.
Class Specific Essential Duties
Facilitate group and individualized instructional sessions to support student needs
Monitor academic and educational progress of program participants
Attend Staff meetings and trainings to review student progress
Plan and facilitate varied projects and assignments through individualized and group work
Counsel, monitor and maintain records of student academic outcomes and provide ongoing effective feedback to students
Report academic and/or personal student concerns to the Program Leadership as it relates to students' welfare and special education needs.
