Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities
Full-time, tenure track Assistant Professor position in the Social Work program.
Teach 12 credit hours per semester
Teach a variety of courses across the BSW curriculum suited to experience and expertise.
Serves as academic advisor and professional mentor for students.
Engage in research, scholarly, or creative activity
Actively participate in committee work, as well as curriculum, professional development, and service to external stakeholders.
Recruit for the social work program in the region.
Minimum Education Requirements
Master's in Social Work from a CSWE-accredited program is required.
Doctorate degree is required.
ABDs with a documented plan of completion by appointment date will be considered.
Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements
Eligibility for Social Work licensure at a graduate level is required.
Demonstrated teaching experience in higher education is required.
Flexibility to teach all courses in BSW curriculum is required.
Flexibility to utilize different teaching methods: traditional, hybrid, online, etc.
Demonstrated awareness of and sensitivity to diverse populations and ability to contribute to the department and the university's commitments to inclusivity, equity, and social justice is required.
Preferred Education and/or Experience Qualifications
A PhD in Social Work is strongly preferred.
At least two years post-MSW full-time experience in professional social work practice is preferred.
Post-MSW practice experience with individuals, children and families, mental health, substance abuse, or other micro systems settings is preferred.
Demonstrated ability teaching BSW students with a variety of learner focused methodologies, reflecting high impact teaching practice is preferred.
Utilization of technology that enhances teaching and learning is preferred.
