Our summer student internship is a 10 to 14 week program that starts in mid to late May and ends in August. Interns may be eligible for a one-time hiring bonus to assist with housing costs depending upon proximity to an American Family office. Compensation is based off of graduation year and degree you are pursuing Compensation Minimum: $25.00 Compensation Maximum: $39.00 As our law student intern, you will work on many aspects of new and ongoing cases, such as research and writing memoranda, motions, and briefs on various substantive legal topics for Arizona, Nevada and California. In addition, there will be many opportunities to attend and provide input at depositions, arbitrations, mediations, and court hearings. You may also be asked to help draft various documents for hearings, mediations/settlement conferences, trial, and may assist with the attorney in trial, if possible. Responsibilities: •You will develop an understanding of our business environments, corporate culture and structure to support work projects. • Supports new ideas and systems. Produce creative ideas and actions in response to changing situations. • Support and plans work on small projects with direction from management. • You may assume the responsibilities normally performed in the department, alongside professionals who perform these roles. • Present project results to management and department personnel. • Perform analytical work within the assigned functional area. Requirements: · Must be currently pursuing a Law Degree at an accredited law school. · Must have completed first year of law school · Must have completed Legal Writing We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet all of the requirements listed above.
