The Sales Support Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the store is well-maintained, orderly, and customer-focused. This position involves assisting customers, managing transactions at the cash register, replenishing inventory, arranging products, cleaning the store, and fulfilling other responsibilities assigned by the Store Manager. Furthermore, in the event that the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager is not present, the Sales Support Specialist takes charge and contributes to the store's success by increasing profitability, enhancing customer experience, and protecting the company's assets.
Duties and Essential Job Functions:
รย Deliver outstanding customer assistance by greeting and aiding clients.
รย Operate the cash register and scanner to document and add up purchases, collect payments, return change, and bag items.
รย Abide by the company's protocols for the receipt, unpacking, and organization of merchandise. Rotate products on the shelves and create visually appealing displays to enhance the presentation of the items.
รย Maintain the store's hygiene by disposing of trash, dusting various surfaces, sweeping and mopping, and overseeing the cleanliness of restrooms and stockrooms.
รย Aid in the development and retention of planograms.
รย Comply with the Store Manager's guidelines for opening and closing operations.
รย Assume additional responsibilities that are typically delegated to the Store Manager or Assistant Store Manager in their nonattendance.
Knowledge and Skills:
รย Proficiency in communicating and connecting well with others verbally.
รย Awareness of safety policies and procedures.
รย Aptitude for interpreting and adhering to planograms and guides for merchandising layout.
รย Mathematical expertise involving addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages.
รย Skillful in managing cash register functionalities effectively.
รย Knowledge of policies related to controlling cash, facilities, and safety measures.
รย Being knowledgeable about cash handling practices, which includes supervising cashier accountabilities and enforcing deposit regulations.
รย Aptitude for operating a vehicle to conduct bank deposits as needed.
Work Experience and Education:
รย It is recommended to hold a high school diploma or its equal qualification.
รย A preferred qualification includes six months of experience in a supervisory role or equivalent training.
Working Conditions:
รย Routine activities include regular walking, standing, bending, stooping, and kneeling.
รย Frequent operation of goods and equipment such as scanners, pricing devices, and box-opening tools.
รย Regularly required to lift weights up to 40 pounds and occasionally required to lift weights up to 55 pounds.
รย Occasional climbs on ladders not exceeding six feet in height.
รย Regulate the level of noise in a rapid-paced setting.
รย Sporadic experience of external atmospheric influences.
