The Lead Technical Project Manager- Generative AI will spearhead, plan, and coordinate a suite of cutting-edge Generative AI projects to lead their interdependencies in support of specific business strategies. This role is central to Disney Tech & Digital's drive for innovation involving the orchestration of advanced AI products. You will be responsible for leading one or more complex Generative AI projects, including project timeline, scope prioritization, cost, dependencies, and performance risks. This person must be an expert in communication, technology project management, understanding the overall product roadmap, technology stack, application suite, business processes and any downstream system and business impacts. They will collaborate with internal and vendor peers, executives, and line of business partners to ensure the success of projects.
This role will report to the Sr. Manager, Portfolio and Program Management. This position can be located in Orlando, FL, Seattle, WA or Anaheim/Glendale, CA.
What You Will Do
• Lead complex project plans, ensuring seamless collaboration across various teams and workstreams.
• Use expertise in user analytics tools to guide and inform project decisions.
• Lead all aspects of the integration and effective use of generative AI and content-related technologies within the project scope.
• Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Facilitate cross-functional team meetings, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including timelines, budgets, and prioritization plans.
• Assist product owners in developing outcome-based roadmaps, aligning project goals with strategic outcomes.
• Support technical owners in benchmarking tools, providing insights on tool selection and implementation.
• Coordinate RFP/RFI process with Sourcing partners for vendor/product selection, focusing on Generative AI technologies.
• Supervise project planning during discovery phases, ensuring a robust understanding of AI technologies and their business implications.
• Play a key role in bridging technical and business aspects of AI projects, ensuring that the scopes are feasible, aligned with technical capabilities' roadmap, market maturity, and targeted towards tangible business values.
• Ensure that projects operate within the approved budget.

Required Qualifications & Skills
• 7+ years of Program/Project management experience in software development of AI, with a preference of the latest experience in Generative AI/ LLM projects and leading cross-functional teams.
• Technical understanding of Large Language Models (LLM) and experience working with AI vendors
• Proficiency in Agile methodologies, Scrum management, with a history of successful project velocity and completion forecasting.
• Demonstrated expertise using project management tools, especially JIRA, Confluence, and GitHub.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies (AWS, GCP, Azure) and a strong understanding of current LLM technologies, and their business applications.
• Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills, capable of engaging effectively with both business and technical teams.
• Experience with financial/budget management and complex cost-benefit analysis.
• Experience managing and prioritizing projects withing the portfolio.

Preferred Qualifications
• Understanding of AI product management methodologies
• Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
• Agile Certifications (CSM; ACP; CSPO; SAFe; LeSS)
• Generative AI/ LLM certifications

Education
• Bachelor's degree and/or equivalent work experience

Additional Information
#DISNEYTECH
The hiring range for this position in Anaheim, CA is $149,240 - $200,200 per year and in Seattle, WA is $156,292 - $209,660 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
