Job Summary
The Forklift Operator/Transport Driver is responsible for a variety of tasks including using the forklift to load and unload finished goods in the warehouse and transporting product and vehicles/equipment to assigned locations.
Job Responsibilities
 Load and unload finished goods. Operate industrial powered equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
 Assists with the management of inventory and product loss control.
 Transports tractors and/or trailers to service facilities.
 Transports product from a Distribution Center to an outlying Distribution Center. Connect or disconnect the trailer at the facility destination.
 Performs facility maintenance as needed including disposal of recycling and trash.
 Maintain vehicle, product, and equipment to company standards. Ensures compliance with regulatory and company policies and procedures including DOT regulations.
 Communicate nightly on safety or business discrepancies observed/encountered during shift.
Job Requirements
 High School Diploma or GED required.
 Minimum of one year of work experience required.
 Must be 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
 Prior experience in warehouse preferred.
 Class A Commercial DriverÂs License (CDL) and a clean driving record within MVR guidelines. Illinois residents are required to have a CDL issued from the state of Illinois.
 Prior experience using pallet jack or forklift preferred. Ability to obtain PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) certification upon hire is required.
Physical Requirements
 Speaking: Constantly with customers (investigates, negotiates, recommends, reports, etc.)
 Acute Vision: Constantly (observing both near and far, reading documents)
 Typing: Frequently using electronic devices for day-to-day business (order confirmation, instant messaging, texting)
 Mobility: Frequent travel throughout customer locations (walking in backrooms, aisles, greeting customers)
 Bending/Squatting: Frequently (lifting and placing product from the truck to the ground or from pallets to shelf)
 Lifting: Frequent- Lift 50 lbs. or less (full cases of product)
 Pushing/pulling: Frequent use of manual carts
 Climbing: Frequent entering and exiting the cab of a truck
 Driving: Frequent travel between distribution center locations
