Job Summary The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and deploying software solutions for our Virtual Scheduling System (SRS). This system enables the airline to recover plane and group schedules holistically, resulting in improved customer support, reduced disruption charges, and increased resource utilization. You will work closely with our Product Manager, Digital Technology, and Business teams to scope, evaluate, and develop case studies, as well as integrate systems, develop software, and guide testing efforts. Key Responsibilities: Design, develop, test, and deploy software solutions for the Virtual Scheduling System (SRS) Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product Manager, Digital Technology, and Business teams Develop and maintain microservices architecture with REST APIs Work with AWS compute, storage, and messaging services, such as EC2, ECS, Lambda, S3, RDS, and more Develop software code and unit tests in Java, Spring (Boot, Data, Batch, Security), and Python Experience with messaging platforms, such as TIBCO, Kafka, MQ, etc. Develop and maintain Single Page Applications (SPAs) using Angular, React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Bootstrap, and CSS3 Strong object-oriented design skills and ability to analyze requirements and transform into scalable software designs Proficiency with Git, CI-CD practices, and Couchbase or other NoSQL databases Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent work experience Three+ years of experience in designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging software systems and/or applications Responsible for software development throughout the design/build stages of the SDLC Participate in software design meetings and analyze user needs to determine technical requirements Liable for ensuring in-development builds follow approved designs Perform coding and unit testing, including test class creations, for in-progress changes Experience working with a diverse set of team members located in different time zones Preferred Qualifications: Airline enterprise experience Migration experience on AWS Experience as a Technical Lead Experience with Teamcity, Harness, and AI/ML technologies What We Offer As a valued member of our team, you will enjoy a competitive salary of $70,000 per year, as well as a range of benefits and perks, including: 100% remote work arrangement Opportunities for career growth and professional development Collaborative and dynamic work environment Access to cutting-edge technologies and tools Comprehensive benefits package Flexible work arrangements and work-life balance Why Join United Airlines?
