Underwriting Intern (Remote)
POSITION SUMMARYThe Summer Property Insurance Underwriting Intern will support our underwriting team in evaluating property risks, analyzing data, and contributing to the decision-making process on insurance applications. This internship is designed to provide exposure to the underwriting cycle, risk assessment, and industry best practices.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIESā¢ Assist underwriters in reviewing property insurance applications and supporting documentationā¢ Perform risk analysis using internal tools, guidelines, and third-party data sourcesā¢ Participate in file audits, underwriting meetings, and training sessionsā¢ Support team with data entry, document management, and administrative tasksā¢ Collaborate on special projects or presentations related to underwriting strategies
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEā¢ Currently pursuing a Bachelorās degree in Risk Management, Insurance, Finance, Business, or related fieldā¢ Strong analytical and critical thinking skillsā¢ Excellent written and verbal communication skillsā¢ Proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel); familiarity with insurance systems is a plusā¢ Detail-oriented with strong organizational skillsā¢ Interest in a career in insurance, underwriting, or risk management
