In this role, you will evaluate, select, and manage risks within a defined authority, while contributing to profitable business growth. You will interact with internal stakeholders and external clients to deliver thoughtful underwriting decisions and maintain long-term, productive relationships. The position is remote, offering flexibility, and requires strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills to navigate a fast-paced, collaborative environment.Accountabilities:
Underwrite casualty insurance risks by analyzing exposures, loss frequency/severity, and coverage needs
Evaluate new and renewal business to ensure profitability and market competitiveness
Modify coverage options and apply pricing rules to align with risk assessment and client needs
Develop strong client relationships and deliver timely communication around underwriting decisions
Monitor market trends and maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry practices, rating tools, and policy forms
Collaborate with internal teams and contribute to book management strategy
Provide coverage recommendations and solutions tailored to unique client scenarios
Requirements
High school diploma and 1–3 years of P&C underwriting experience required; Bachelor’s degree preferred
Strong risk analysis and decision-making abilities aligned with underwriting standards
Proven ability to develop and maintain customer relationships
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Organized, self-motivated, and attentive to detail
Team-oriented with a proactive approach to solving problems and meeting business needs
Willingness to travel as necessary to meet with clients
CPCU designation or similar insurance qualifications preferred
Experience with artisan contractors or environmental insurance is a plus
