Underwriter or Underwriting Specialist- Management Liability

Zurich North America is currently looking for an Underwriter or Underwriting Specialist in Management Liability. The role involves analyzing and underwriting new and renewal business for Financial Lines Products while building strong relationships with retail brokers and insured customers to identify growth opportunities.ResponsibilitiesManage a Administer and monitor underwriting rules and guidelines, rating manual rules, and insurance laws and regulationsDevelop, maintain & collaborate with Line of Business product representatives and other business-related needs, as appropriateDevelop and maintain relationships with brokers in support of business retention and acquisition and work with insureds to determine their insurance related needs and provide solutionsSupport the organization's sales culture by being a Help Point for brokers and customersProactively seek renewal and new account opportunitiesComplete detailed opportunity assessment with key distributors to identify growth opportunitiesQualify accounts to meet with the organization's appetite, balanced with sound business opportunityMake broker/customer and on-sight calls with a planned and well-prepared purposeMentor team membersSkillsHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 1 or more years of experience in the Insurance or Market Facing areaHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 2 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support areaKnowledge of the insurance industry and the legal and regulatory environmentKnowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations and guidelinesKnowledge of line/s of business and the legal and regulatory guidelinesKnowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal businessExperience with Microsoft OfficeExperience working on time restraints for quotes on new and renewal businessExperience working in a team environmentHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing areaHigh School Diploma or Equivalent and 6 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support areaZurich Certified Insurance Apprentice including an Associate Degree and 1 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing areaBachelor's DegreeStrong verbal and written communication skillsStrong relationship building skillsBenefitsShort-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 10%Competitive pay and comprehensive benefits for employees and their familiesCompany OverviewZurich American Insurance is an international commercial property-casualty insurance provider.
