UX Designer - Design Systems Specialist (Desktop & Mobile)
About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled and experienced UX Designer to join the team and be instrumental in shaping and maintaining our unified design system across both desktop and mobile platforms for our marketing website and purchase buyflow.
This designer will work closely with designers, engineers, and product managers to ensure a consistent and efficient user experience across all touchpoints.
The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of experience with a strong specialization in design systems and a proven ability to deliver high-fidelity designs and developer-ready specifications.
Responsibilities:
• Experience working within the telecommunications or internet service provider industry.
• Drive the evolution and consistent application of our design system across desktop and mobile interfaces for our products.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, and product managers, to ensure seamless implementation and adoption of the design system.
• Produce high-fidelity UI designs and prototypes in Figma that align with the design system principles.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive design documentation, including component specifications, usage guidelines, and interaction patterns for both desktop and mobile.
• Ensure the design system components and patterns adhere to accessibility standards (WCAG) across all platforms.
• Create and maintain detailed developer-ready specifications and assets in Figma, facilitating efficient and accurate implementation.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in design systems and responsive design.
• Advocate for the design system and contribute to its continuous improvement based on user feedback, technical constraints, and evolving product needs.
Qualifications:
• 3-5 years of professional experience in UX design, with a strong portfolio showcasing design system work for both desktop and mobile applications.
• Proven experience in developing, documenting, and maintaining comprehensive design systems.
• Deep understanding of UX/UI principles, interaction design, and information architecture, with a focus on responsive design.
• Excellent visual design skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Expert proficiency in Figma, including advanced prototyping capabilities and the creation of detailed component specifications for developer handoff.
• Solid understanding of front-end development principles and the ability to communicate effectively with engineers regarding design implementation.
• Experience with accessibility standards (WCAG) and designing inclusive user experiences.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
• Familiarity with agile development methodologies.
• Experience with user research and usability testing for design system components.
• Experience with podcasting or other forms of content creation.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: Up to $65.00 per hour
