• Seeking service-oriented people to provide elementary level tutoring for K-5 students in local elementary schools as a Member of Ohio Reading & Math Corps!
• Work with students who are below-proficient in reading or math for their grade level.
• Members receive training and are assigned to one school for the school year
• Members will provide tutoring to a set list of students in small groups or in 1:1 settings.
• This is a great way to give back to the community, help students, and gain valuable experience for those interested in obtaining a job in a school district.
This is a service position with AmeriCorps, requiring 30 hours/week September 4th - May 31st following the school schedule. In return for service, Members receive a stipend of $1,600 per month, plus an Education Award of up to $3,697.50 upon completion of the term. This can be used to pay student loans or college tuition.
Minimum requirements:
1) High school diploma or equivalency; and
2) One of the following:
• Associate's degree or higher; or
• Minimum of 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours from an accredited institution; or
• Pass the paraprofessional assessment
• *No maximum age limit.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $1,600.00 per month
Expected hours: 30 per week
