As an Occupational Therapist at Soar Autism Center, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children with autism and their families. Role Overview:
In this role, you will:
Implement naturalistic occupational therapy for children aged 2-6 years in a center-based setting, with a focus on autism
Develop and implement interventions aimed at improving gross motor, fine motor skills, feeding practices, and daily living activities tailored to the needs of children with autism
Collaborate with other clinical areas, including ABA, speech therapy, and psychology, to develop comprehensive treatment plans and provide co-treatments with speech therapists
Mentor and guide a team of Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to integrate OT goals into their therapy, enhancing their approach to autism care
Monitor client progress, update treatment plans and goals, and communicate necessary adjustments to team members and families
Build strong relationships with families, setting goals, sharing progress, and providing coaching and support on their journey
Qualifications:
Degree in Occupational Therapy with a focus on pediatrics or a similar field
Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist
Experience working with children with autism or related developmental disorders
Strong understanding of and commitment to early intervention and integrated care approaches
Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with a passion for supporting the growth and development of children with autism
