Job Summary We are seeking subcontractor transcribers and proofreaders who are based in the United States and have a strong background in legal transcription. As a transcriber and proofreader with Access Transcripts, you will be responsible for preparing verbatim legal transcripts, proofreading transcripts for accuracy and completeness, and delivering high-quality work on time. Key Responsibilities Prepare verbatim legal transcripts, including court proceedings, depositions, and trials Proofread transcripts for accuracy, completeness, and formatting Review and edit transcripts to ensure accuracy and quality Meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work on time Communicate effectively with the Access Transcripts team and clients Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices in legal transcription Essential Qualifications 2+ years of experience in preparing verbatim legal transcripts Strong knowledge of court proceedings, legal terminology, and transcription guidelines Excellent written communication skills and attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Word or WordPerfect (Word preferred) Familiarity with various audio programs, including FTR, JAVS, CourtSmart, Liberty, VIQ, and ExpressScribe Strong work ethic and ability to meet deadlines Ability to work independently and as part of a remote team Preferred Qualifications Experience working with legal transcription software and technology Knowledge of transcription guidelines and standards, such as those set by the National Court Reporters Association (NCRA) Experience working with a variety of audio formats and quality levels Strong analytical and problem-solving skills What We Offer Tons of interesting work that can be completed on your schedule, as long as you get it back to us by the deadline Highly competitive page rates Weekly pay via direct deposit Access to our online chat group that provides feedback and mentoring A great work environment with lots of opportunities for growth and professional development The opportunity to work with a supportive team of experienced transcribers and proofreaders C Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Access Transcripts, we are committed to helping our team members grow and develop their skills.
