Join the Amazon Transportation Execution Team as a Trans Operations Expert

About Amazon's Transportation Execution

Amazon's Transportation Execution team is responsible for the headquarters and control of transportation execution across the Amazon inventory network. The ROC team guarantees the timely and efficient pickup and delivery of cargo from merchants to Amazon fulfillment centers and from Amazon FCs to transportation hubs. In the event of exceptions, the ROC team steps in to resolve issues and keeps all stakeholders informed on procedures. Additionally, the ROC team analyzes trends in network exceptions and automates processes or proposes process changes to streamline operations.

Domain of a Trans Operations Subject Matter Expert

As a Trans Operations Expert at ROC, you will work with the flow of data between various stakeholders (transporters, centers, and warehouses) and resolve potential issues that impact customer experience and business continuity. Your responsibilities will span two verticals: Inbound and Outbound operations.

Inbound Tasks


Manage Seller/Transporter/FC relationships, ensuring timely and accurate pickup and delivery of cargo
Resolve potential issues during the lifecycle of pickup to delivery
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and issue resolution


Outbound Tasks


Manage FC/Transporter/Transporter Center relationships, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of customer orders
Resolve potential issues during the lifecycle of cargo departing the FC and arriving at customer premises
Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless communication and issue resolution


Key Responsibilities


Provide timely resolution to issues while analyzing and questioning internal tools and making real-time decisions
Understand requirements, analyze data, and identify trends to drive Client Experience without compromising time
Develop and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
Communicate effectively with external clients (transporters, sellers/providers) and internal clients (retail, finance, software support, fulfillment centers)
Pull data from various databases (using Excel, Access, SQL, and other data management systems) and perform ad-hoc reporting and analysis as needed
Create and understand performance metrics to drive business results
Collaborate with Amazon technology groups to ensure business and functional requirements are met
Rapidly understand the business impact of trends and make informed decisions based on available data
Methodically escalate issues or changes in data and information to relevant owners and teams to ensure timely resolution
Work within various time requirements to meet critical business needs while measuring and identifying activities performed
Demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to create a story framing weekly discoveries and differences to objectives
Provide real-time client experience by working in a 24*7 operating environment


Requirements

Essential Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in a quantitative/technical field, such as computer science, engineering, or statistics
Experience with Excel
Experience with SQL


Preferred Qualifications


Excellent interpersonal skills
Experience with data analysis and process improvement
Familiarity with Amazon's transportation network and operations
