As a Trader, Equities, you will optimize transaction processes, monitor capital markets, and execute transactions to support investment strategies while collaborating with various teams for continuous improvement.ResponsibilitiesOptimization of trading processesIn collaboration with the team, continuously review and work on trading best practices through the use of transaction monitoring toolsRefine the various reports in place to support decision-makingAdjust debt securities positions and monitor them on a daily basisCollaborate with operations teams in the settlement of various transactionsEnsure a constant flow of communication with members of the Trading team to ensure the best possible execution of the investment strategy concernedMonitor market movements and inform managers of their possible impactProvide information on the performance of various portfolio positions and contextualize them to support managers in their analysesIn collaboration with the Trading team, be responsible for the trading and execution of equities on the Canadian, American and European marketsMonitor and analyze execution performance metrics (slippage, costs, TCA) and evaluate possible solutionsContribute to the optimization of trading processes and tools (algorithm settings, broker preference lists, automation)Keep abreast of changes in market structure and rules in Canada, the U.S. and Europe, and assess their impact on day-to-day operationsReview industry best practices (principle of best execution) and validate their applicability within the teamCollaborate with stakeholders and propose new methods to improve the trading service offered to managers (processes, tools, automation, reporting)SkillsBachelor's degree in Finance or a related fieldUp to three years of investment experience and a strong interest in capital markets and how they workAdvanced knowledge of ExcelIntegrity, analytical rigour, problem-solving abilities, stress management skills, accountability, ability to prioritize deliverables, desire to collaborate with colleagues and partnersNo Canadian work experience is required; however, you must be eligible to work in CanadaBilingualism (English-French)Master's degree in Finance, an assetHave, or wish to obtain, the CFA designationProgramming skills, an assetAbility to navigate and consult programs such as Bloomberg and/or Charles River, an assetBenefitsFlexible work arrangements and a hybrid work modelPossibility to purchase up to 5 extra days off per yearMultiple benefits offered to support physical and mental wellbeing, including telemedicine, Wellness account and much moreShare plan & other savings: up to 12% of salary or even more (ask how you could earn guaranteed income for life)Annual Bonus Target, Based On The Base Salary, With a Potential Payout Of Up To Double The Target (subject To Personal And Company Performance)10%Employee Share Purchase Plan (ESPP) – with Intact matching 50% of your net shares.Our pension offerings provide flexibility and long-term security for our employees beyond their careers.
