Job Summary:
Join our team at Charlevoix-Emmet ISD and make a difference in the lives of Native American students in Michigan! We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Title VI Academic Tutor to provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions to high school students in Boyne City Public Schools. As a Title VI Academic Tutor, you will play a vital role in reinforcing educational skills based on State of Michigan standards for academic achievement, while promoting cultural awareness and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide individualized and small group tutoring sessions to Native American students in 9th through 12th grade, focusing on core academic skills and cultural awareness
Reinforce educational skills based on State of Michigan standards for academic achievement
Develop strong relationships with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a supportive learning environment
Utilize technology to enhance the education process and improve student outcomes
Advocate for students and mentor them in self-advocacy skills
Requirements:
Strong academic background, preferably in education or a related field
Experience with tutoring and strong knowledge of basic high school mathematics
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations
Proficiency in technology applications that support education
