Threat Analyst, CyberCrime Investigation Group

Minimum qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 2 years of experience in investigations, data analysis, project management, or online threats.

Preferred qualifications:
• 4 years of experience with investigations involving online threats.
• Experience with databases, collecting, managing, and synthesizing large and complex data sets from disparate sources.
• Experience with SQL.
• Experience dealing with sensitive and offensive content and interacting with law enforcement.
• Ability and willingness to work across time zones, including sporadic off-hours work and weekend oncall work, to communicate with a distributed team.

Trust & Safety team members are tasked with identifying and taking on the biggest problems that challenge the safety and integrity of our products. The CyberCrime Investigation Group: Imminent Threat (CCIG: IT) team protects Google and our users by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to identify, investigate, and disrupt significant threats of violence and self-harm that are occurring on our products. The team serves as the central point of contact for incidents involving potential data disclosure and/or law enforcement involvement.

As a Threat Analyst, you'll work side-by-side with investigators and legal counsel to drive cases to effective courses of action. You will also work cross-functionally with groups within Legal, Product, Security, and external parties.

You will participate in an on-call rotation that is a shared responsibility and expectation of the role, once provided training has been completed.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $90,500-$130,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
• Support investigations involving imminent threats of physical harm and other malicious behavior.
• Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24x7 support.
• Triage incoming leads, conduct investigations, research, and analysis to assist with identification, attribution, connections, and location of subjects. Determine courses of action, and document and communicate results to relevant stakeholders.
• Operate independently and advance investigations forward through analysis and research.
• Review or be exposed to sensitive or graphic content as part of core role.
