Territory Manager Associate Relations [TARM]

Position Purpose:

The Territory Manager Associate Relations [TARM] is responsible for executing the strategy for promoting fair and consistent employment practices. The TARM ensures a positive associate relations environment to enhance overall performance in driving customer service and sales. The TARM reports to the Division Director of Associate Relations.
Ā• Lead complex & high-risk investigations though completion
Ā• Provide advice and counsel to leaders on investigations
Ā• Identify global learnings to address trends to minimize risk
Ā• Provide AR support and coach leaders pre/during/post all types of crisis
Ā• Provide guidance on practice/policy/process to leaders across all platforms on complex associate relations concerns.
Ā• Coach leaders on fair and consistent employment practices
Ā• Development for identified HR Partners to enhance skillsets, or address identified opportunities
Ā• Lead on-site assessments for high-risk locations

Key Responsibilities:
Ā• Provides direction to RVP, RHRD, and other regional leaders on labor and employment trends and associate relations needs to ensure creation and maintenance of a positive associate relations environment
Ā• Provides guidance to regional leaders on the interpretation and consistent application of Company policies, programs and initiatives
Ā• Analyzes regional/district/store data to identify AR activity/trends; develops, executes and follows up on AR action plans to ensure fair and consistent application of Company policies and practices
Ā• Monitors all labor relations activity in the region with guidance and direction from the Store Support Center (SSC) - Associate Relations team
Ā• Provides direction to regional leadership on procedures for handling potential unionizing efforts and NLRB actions and developing preventative strategies and education on union avoidance
Ā• Assists in developing, executing, and following up on game plans associated with EOC survey, town halls, and labor activity
Ā• Provides region support to SSC in response to and/or resolution of EEOC, DOL, OFCCP and other labor and employment claims; as well as managing and reporting workplace violence matters
Ā• Act as resource to assist Medical Health Management, Legal, and Asset Protection on investigations and associate relations issues
Ā• Conducts training for management on legal and AR/labor relations matters, develops customized training where appropriate in partnership with Learning Development
Ā• Works with Government Compliance to promote diversity using diversity reporting tools, and addressing AAP (OFCCP audits), I-9 compliance, compensation reviews, and other regional compliance issues
Ā• Provides assistance to DHRMs with reviewing Performance Improvement Plans for Store Managers to ensure fairness and consistency

Direct Manager/Direct Reports:
Ā• Reports to Division Director of Associate Relations

Travel Requirements:
Ā• Typically requires overnight travel 10% to 25% of the time.

Physical Requirements:
Ā• Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about; occasionally there may be a need to stoop or lift light objects (typically less than 8 pounds).

Working Conditions:
Ā• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Conditions could produce mild discomfort on occasion.

Minimum Qualifications:
Ā• Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Ā• Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.
Ā• Ability to work a flexible schedule

Preferred Qualifications:
Ā• Advanced degree in law, employee relations, or human resources
Ā• Multi-site (50-plus locations) and experience with 10,000 associates
Ā• 8 years experience in employment law, employee relations or human resources is preferred
Ā• PHR or SPHR or equivalent certification
Ā• Ability to work a flexible schedule

Minimum Education:
Ā• The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
