The department offers a range of undergraduate programs, including literature, creative writing, professional and technical writing, linguistics, and English education, as well as a Master of Arts program. Key Responsibilities Teach undergraduate courses from first-year composition to upper division and graduate courses, with a typical teaching load of four (4) courses per semester. Engage in research and scholarly activities, with a focus on multi-ethnic American literature, including but not limited to Latinx, African American, Asian American and Pacific Islander, and Native American literatures. Provide service to the department, college, and university, demonstrating a commitment to student success and academic excellence. Develop and maintain a productive research agenda, with a potential for an active and productive career as a scholar. Participate in departmental and university-wide initiatives, including those related to diversity, equity, and inclusion. Essential and Preferred Qualifications Required Qualifications: Ph.D. in English/Literature or a related field, including but not limited to American Studies or Ethnic Studies, by July 1, 2024. Evidence of teaching effectiveness at the university level. Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) or more years of teaching experience at the undergraduate level. Experience teaching online and face-to-face. A successful record of scholarly publication and presentation. Demonstrated commitment to global awareness, inclusion, and equity efforts in pedagogical practices and scholarship. Excellent communication, collaboration, and organization skills.
