Temporary (2+ yrs) Experienced Legal Assistant (REMOTE)
We are looking for a skilled and experienced (2+ yrs) Insurance Defense Legal Assistant to REMOTELY join our team on a contract basis in New York, New York. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in litigation support and insurance defense, along with strong organizational abilities and attention to detail. This role requires someone who is attentive to detail with a minimum of two years of experience in the legal field. Schedule: 8:30AM - 5PM (PT) | 11:30AM - 8PM (EST) | 10:30AM - 7PM (CT) Responsibilities: • Serve legal paperwork to appropriate parties in a timely and detail-oriented manner. • Prepare and file legal documents electronically, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court requirements. • Manage and track litigation calendars, including deadlines, hearings, and appointments. • Coordinate with attorneys and staff to support insurance defense litigation cases. • Maintain organized records and ensure all case files are updated regularly. • Assist in drafting correspondence and legal documents. • Handle court filings and ensure proper submission within specified timelines. • Monitor case progress and provide updates to attorneys as needed. • Collaborate with team members to streamline legal processes and improve efficiency. • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a legal assistant or similar role in the legal field. • Proficiency in e-filing and court filing procedures. • Strong knowledge of insurance defense and litigation support. • Excellent organizational and calendar management skills. • Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively under tight deadlines. • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. • Familiarity with legal terminology and documentation. • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in all work.
