About the position
The Teller I position at TD Bank is a vital role within the Personal & Commercial Banking line of business, located in East Rutherford, New Jersey. In addition to transaction processing, the Teller I is responsible for responding to customer inquiries and concerns, utilizing standard procedures to resolve issues, and escalating more complex matters to management when necessary. The position requires engaging in lobby leadership, which involves orchestrating customer flow, warmly welcoming customers, and guiding them appropriately. The Teller I must understand customer preferences and educate them on self-service and digital banking options that meet their needs. This role also includes advocating for customers by conducting needs-based conversations and offering financial and digital solutions, or referring them to appropriate partners for specialized assistance. Compliance is a critical aspect of this role, as the Teller I must ensure that all operational activities adhere to company guidelines and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act and the Patriot Act. The position requires verifying customer identities according to authentication policies and procedures, balancing cash drawers and ATMs, and following security and audit measures to minimize potential loss. The Teller I is also accountable for maintaining the confidentiality of customer information and ensuring that cash is secured at all times. Training is an essential component of this role, with expectations to complete all required in-classroom and online training by established deadlines.

Requirements
