Telemetry Nurse (RN) in Williston, VT
Provide expert nursing care in a dynamic Med-Surg Telemetry unit, serving adult patients with a range of acute conditions including telemetry monitoring, post-op orthopedic, urology, GI cases, COPD, CHF, diabetes, dementia, and end-of-life care. This role requires proficiency in telemetry skills and a collaborative, team-oriented approach to patient care within a supportive environment.
Location:
The position is based in a well-equipped medical center in a welcoming Vermont community known for its scenic landscapes and peaceful living. Commuting options are convenient with free onsite parking; however, reliable transportation is preferred due to some housing being further afield. The center offers a tight-knit team environment where professional growth and patient-centered care are priorities.
Responsibilities:
• Provide skilled nursing care adhering to unit-specific protocols including NG tube insertion, peripheral IV placement, telemetry strip application, interpretation, and intervention
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including RNs, LPNs, LNAs, charge nurses, and ancillary staff to deliver coordinated care
• Utilize Epic for documentation and Pyxis for medication management
• Manage diverse patient needs, assess changing conditions, and implement appropriate nursing interventions
• Participate in unit floating assignments infrequently, adapting to similar care settings as needed
• Maintain professional appearance and compliance with dress code guidelines
• Engage in unit orientation and continual learning to maintain clinical and specialty competencies
Qualifications / Desired Experience:
• Active RN licensure with at least 2 years clinical experience including minimum 1 year in telemetry nursing
• Certification in BLS, ACLS, and Telemetry required; peripheral IV placement certification preferred
• Experience applying, interpreting, and responding to telemetry rhythms is essential
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts with an option to pick up extra 8-hour shifts
• Reliable transportation strongly recommended
Schedule:
• 12-hour shifts with flexible scheduling through an online platform
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Holiday shifts required; no call responsibilities
