Role Overview
This contract role involves delivering professional nursing services on a 45-bed medical-surgical telemetry unit. The position requires a minimum of 36 guaranteed weekly hours, including every other weekend coverage, with one call shift in an eight-week block. The patient-to-nurse ratio ranges from 1:4-5 during the day and 1:5-6 at night, ensuring manageable caseloads for quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
β’ Monitoring and managing telemetry and cardiac patients in an acute inpatient setting
β’ Administering medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders
β’ Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to plan and implement patient care
β’ Utilizing the EPIC electronic medical record (EMR) system for documentation
β’ Responding appropriately to patient needs, including critical situations
Qualifications and Experience
β’ Current RN licensure with a minimum of one year clinical experience
β’ Required certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred, Telemetry certification mandatory
β’ Demonstrated experience in cardiac nursing, telemetry monitoring, and medical-surgical care
β’ Comfortable working in a fast-paced acute care environment
