Somethings is on a mission to end the youth mental health crisis by reducing the suicide rate for teens back to 2008 levels of 6.8 per 100,000 (1) for the 42 Million teens in the U.S.

To combat this, we are creating the first scaled network of Certified Peer Specialists and building the most engaging mental health experience in the world for teenagers. We’ve found deep resonance with Medicaid Managed Care Organizations and State Health Agencies and we’re scaling to quickly towards serving hundreds of thousands of teens.

Role Overview:

As a Clinician, you will be the driving force behind delivering clinical interventions at Somethings. Clinical Therapy is a new service line for Somethings, which is a positioned to serve thousands of teens through clinical and subclinical services. We are looking for a therapist who is eager to work with teens and collaborate with our amazing Peer Mentors and Operations Leads as we solve the youth mental health crisis.

You’re a fit for this role if you are are excited by innovative methods of supporting adolescent behavioral healthcare, and want to spend most of your time delivering 1:1 therapy to teens. You care deeply about others and want to help as many people as possible. You’re highly organized, have a proven track record delivering care including crisis intervention, and love working with teens.

Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver mental health interventions through 1:1 tele-therapy with teens ages 13-19:
• Hold session after school hours Monday through Friday: 4 PM ET - 10 PM ET
• If desired, you may provide sessions on the weekends, though not required.
• Conduct intake assessments and create care plans tailored to each teen's needs across a broad range of outpatient issues.
• Facilitate week over week treatment to ensure that teens are improving and staying safe.
• Collaborate with the Somethings Core team to identify opportunities for improvement of the clinical experience for teens.
• Provide A+ documentation of your sessions and interface tightly withto our Clinical Ops team.
• When appropriate, collaborate with a teen's Certified Peer Specialist Mentor to direct overall treatment goals.

Requirements:
• You are a licensed mental health provider (LPCC, LCSW, LMHC, any clinical license) in North Carolina.
• You have experience working with adolescents in a mental health setting (outpatient or inpatient).
• You are comfortable triaging crisis escalations and providing crisis care as needed.
• BONUS: Experience providing therapy in a startup environment.
• BONUS: Experience providing mental health services via telehealth.

• Teen mental health still remains a massive issue. Nearly 40% of teens in the U.S. still struggle with a mental health concern, 20% have had a major depressive episode in the last year, and 10% have attempted suicide in the last year.
• As of January 2025, Peers are now included in FUH and FUM HEDIS measures.
• SAMHSA released revised guidance around EPSDT and continued to encourage states to utilized Peer Supporters.
• Renewed MHPEA reaffirmed the requirements for states and plans to provide adequate mental health services.
• The White House continues to push Peer Support as a solution to the nations mental health challenges.
• Mental health workforce shortages continue.
