Job Title: Technical Writer - Midstream Operations Procedures Location: Houston, TX Type of Role: Contract through end of 2025 Rate: $60-70/hr Key Responsibilities: Procedure Rewriting & Migration: Rewrite and standardize approximately 3,300 operational procedures from PDF format for upload into the KMS. Ensure all procedures are clear, concise, and accurate for a US-based audience of engineers, operators, and field workers. Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather and verify technical information. Maintain consistency and accuracy throughout the documentation process. KMS Integration: Upload and format procedures within the KMS (Knowledge of KMS is not required, but familiarity is a plus). Ensure seamless integration of heritage procedures into the AcceleratorKMS system. Compliance & Standardization: Contribute to the project's goal of achieving and maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies and company policies. Drive standardization of operational procedures to reduce human errors and improve efficiency. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with onshore and offshore team members alike. Participate in discovery meetings to understand project priorities and requirements. Project Deliverables: Ensure all procedures are completed by the end of the year, with a potential target of Q3. Required Qualifications: 5-7 years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the oil and gas industry, specifically Midstream operations. Strong understanding of technical documentation principles and best practices. Excellent communication, writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Ability to translate complex technical information into clear and concise documentation. Experience working with engineers, operators, and field workers. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to deliver documentation in a timely manner. Ability to understand priorities during a discovery phase. Ability to provide previous work samples.
