About the RoleWe’re looking for a technically curious, developer-focused writer to help bring Mendix’s latest AI innovations to life through clear, practical, and engaging documentation. In this role, you won’t just document features—you’ll work side-by-side with developers and product teams to deeply understand how new capabilities work and help translate them into real-world success for our users.You’ll focus on AI-related modules, components, and services within Mendix. You can find most of our components in the Mendix marketplace, they are showcasedin this appand can be used throughMendix Cloud GenAI Resource Packs. But your impact will go beyond traditional documentation—you’ll help shape how developers discover, understand, and apply new technologies across our platform.You’ll join a documentation team that’s part of Mendix R&D, reflecting our belief that great docs are critical to great product experiences. We treat documentation as a core part of the development process—not an afterthought. Key Responsibilities Make Innovation UsableCreate clear, actionable documentation for new and evolving AI features in MendixThink Like a DeveloperWrite with the end user in mind, focusing on practical use cases, project relevance, and real-world application—not just feature descriptions.Own What You WriteTake ownership of documentation for specific AI-driven features, working toward subject matter expertise as you collaborate with product and engineering teams.Collaborate DeeplyWork closely with product managers, engineers, and learning specialists to understand new features at a technical level and communicate them effectively.Connect the DotsAlign documentation with broader developer learning content, helping users move smoothly between tutorials, guides, and self-directed exploration.Shape the ExperienceContribute to the voice, structure, and tooling of our documentation—especially where new AI capabilities demand new approaches.Advocate for DevelopersChampion the needs of the developer community by proactively identifying gaps, responding to feedback, and continuously improving the docs experience. What You Bring 3+ years of experience in technical writing or product documentationFamiliarity with Mendix or other low-code platforms (Mendix certification is a plus)A solid grasp of AI concepts—especially how developers interact with AI-powered componentsStrong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into practical guidanceClear, friendly, and user-focused writing that empowers developers to move fast and build smartComfort working with code, developer tooling (Git, Markdown), and agile product teamsSelf-motivation and independence, paired with a collaborative mindsetA passion for learning and staying curious—especially about how developers build with emerging technologies Nice to Have Experience working with documentation in an open-source or community-driven contextFamiliarity with tools like Jira, CMS workflows, or version control systems
