Job Description:
Our hybrid-remote User Experience team is seeking a self-motivated, highly talented, team-oriented Technical Product Manager (TPM) to help build out the next chapter in our user centered design strategy. Our UX team is responsible for driving user experience through a process of research discovery and solution framing - ultimately delivering the best product experience for our users while additionally providing industry-leading business solutions for our customers. We have the what, and we're looking for top-notch engineers to facilitate the how.
As an integral part of the User Experience (UX) department at CoreLogic, our UI Engineering team plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality front-end development and backend support for specialized projects. These projects encompass sales enablement tools, product specific support, and our proprietary enterprise design system, Ensemble.
In essence, our UI Engineering team serves as the bridge between design and technology, ensuring that every project we undertake delivers an exceptional user experience. As a Technical Product Manager within our dynamic team, you'll collaborate closely with UX/UI Designers, Engineers, and Business Partners, fostering unity in our User-Centered Design & Development approach. Your role is instrumental in applying contemporary Lean Product methodologies to create groundbreaking solutions tailored for our valued users.
In essence, you'll be the bridge that connects diverse expertise, ensuring seamless collaboration and innovation. By embracing this collaborative spirit, we can collectively deliver exceptional experiences that resonate with our users, driving their satisfaction and fostering loyalty.
Job Responsibilities:
Product Champion
• Ensure product solves user needs and achieves business objectives
• Collaborate with the team to provide technical direction on product, design, and architectural decisions
• Understand and communicate the product vision and strategy
• Collaborate with product and business partners to design scalable cloud-based solutions that deliver value to our customers
• Create, own, manage, and prioritize the product development backlog
• Define and continuously prioritize product features
• Construct small, vertically sliced user stories that deliver value to the end user
• Write clear and concise acceptance criteria to validate story completion and as a starting point for developers to write tests.
• Guide the team in iteration planning by estimating effort, complexity, and risk and uncertainty of user stories
Development Orchestration & Delivery Execution
• Embrace and exemplify Extreme Programming (XP) Values (Simplicity, Communication, Feedback, Respect, Courage)
• Provide guidance to the product development team in following our engineering practices including iterative development, CI/CD, pair programming, test-driven development, API-first mindset, and full stack development
• Validate acceptance criteria to confirm user story is complete
• Ensure the team stays in rhythm following weekly iteration cadence including team standup, story discovery, iteration planning meeting, pair programming, retrospective
• Determine when to ship software
• Perform production release planning and deploy applications and services utilizing CI/CD pipeline
• Monitor errors to support availability and resilience of our platform
• Assist in diagnosing and resolving production incidents and then improve upon our systems
Leadership & Practitioner Enablement
• Enable the team to maintain a sustainable pace
• Remove blockers for the team
• Ensure product partner & relevant stakeholders understand progress towards goals and outcomes
• Manage stakeholders and influence decision making across wide a variety of roles and levels in the organization
• Translate business needs into technical terms
• Be an active member of the technical product manager community to help grow and hone our engineering and product practices including Lean Product, User-Centered Design, and Extreme Programming (XP)
• Define and document standards and best practices in collaboration with the engineering practice leader
As a Professional TPM, you will have the opportunity to expand and refine your existing TPM skills including:
• Leading and having ownership of a product initiative
• Committed to achieving product outcomes, understand how to measure success, and communicate progress to stakeholders
• Following TPM principles
• Building relationships with business partners as such to be able to understand the product vision and strategy and advocate for product users and for the balanced team
• Working toward building skills in Lean Product, Extreme Programming, and User-Centered Design in order to become a TPM Subject Matter Expert
• Participating in TPM Center of Excellence including attending meetups, tech talks, learning, and office hours
Job Qualifications:
• 1-3 years of Product/development team leadership experience, including experience defining/managing/owning a product backlog, story writing and defining acceptance criteria, iteration planning
• 1-3 years experience and success working with Agile and/orExtreme Programming (XP) development teams as a TPM, Product Manager/Owner, or Software Engineer
• Experience working with Design Systems, understanding the big picture and how it serves products
• Experience with cloud native ecosystems
• Experience with Lean Product Design and Lean Software Development principles
• Excellent communication skills required to translate business needs into technical terms
• Ability to influence decision making across wide a variety of roles and levels in the organization
• Experience training others in these methodologies
• Experience in helping to design and implement large-scale event-driven architectures
• Knowledge and experience in user-centered design methods/frameworks
• Domain-specific industry experience in Real Estate, Insurance, Mortgage, Commercial or Residential Tax a plus
• Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent Work Experience preferred
