Technical Assurance Sr. Specialist
Role Overview
The Technical Assurance Sr. Specialist initiates, leads, conducts and supports product development, supply chain, and regulatory activities to improve PRRS Resistant Pig populations through continuous genetic improvement and to maintain compliance required by FDA.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Ā Oversee the execution of the genetic improvement strategy within PRRS Resistant Pig research farms
Ā Train staff and technical site leads for successful implementation of PRRS Resistant Pig on-farm improvement program
Ā Develop, maintain, and document protocols for routine and special projects
Ā Support FDA regulatory compliance activities including standard operating procedure training, submission of required regulatory reports and audit preparation
Ā Support Supply Chain with monthly reports for internal and external use
Ā Assist the planning and execution of genetic dissemination of elite PRRS Resistant animals across PRRS Resistant Pig research farms
Ā Provide remote... support for data acquisition, including troubleshooting software and hardware
Requirements
Ā University degree preferred; animal science field preferred
Ā Minimum of 3 years of experience within intensive swine production systems
Ā A thorough understanding of swine production practices
Ā Ability to work in and maintain performance expectations in diverse cultural contexts and fast-paced environment
Ā Work requires continual attention to detail and ability to establish priorities and meet deadlines
Ā Strong communication, interpersonal and organizational skills are required
Ā Working knowledge of contemporary record-keeping systems
Ā Ability to work both autonomously and collaborate across teams and functional areas
Ā Ability to deliver necessary training for production staff
Ā Proficient with computer hardware and in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
Ā Ideally proficient in written and spoken English
Ā Ability to travel approximately 25%
