Job Details
This fully remote role offers the opportunity to design, build, and deploy software that powers some of the most demanding online retail environments. You’ll take ownership of key initiatives on the product roadmap, lead and mentor a talented team of engineers, and remain hands-on in the codebase to deliver high-quality, maintainable, and scalable solutions. This is a chance to influence architecture, guide best practices, and solve complex distributed systems problems at the intersection of cloud, automation, and commerce.
Responsibilities
• Act as the technical lead for one or more concurrent projects, from design through deployment.
• Mentor and coach engineers, fostering technical growth and collaboration.
• Maintain, debug, and enhance systems using Ruby, Golang, TypeScript/JavaScript, MySQL, Docker, and Kubernetes.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define requirements, design solutions, and deliver against commitments.
• Create automation and orchestration functions coordinating across multiple services.
• Review and verify code for quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Work across multiple codebases and adapt to varied technical challenges.
• Contribute to the delivery of clean, peer-reviewed code deployed multiple times per week.
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 6–10 years of professional experience including 3+ years in leadership roles.
• Proven track record with at least one statically typed language, one interpreted language, and relational databases.
• Demonstrated success in technical leadership, including mentoring and guiding engineering teams.
• Deep experience with statically-typed languages (Golang) and interpretative languages (Ruby preferred)
• High-scale infrastructure background or passion for ecommerce platforms serving millions of requests
• Strong understanding of HTTP and transport layer protocols.
• Hands-on experience with Docker.
• Experience designing automation or orchestration across distributed services.
• Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (e.g., Magento, WooCommerce, Shopware).
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to align technical execution with business needs
• Previous experience with Ruby, TypeScript, Golang and MySQL.
