With our momentum—backed by a $12 billion valuation and $1 B in Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) in just over five years—you'll drive meaningful impact while building expertise that makes you a sought-after leader in the transformation of global work.SummaryAs an Engineering Tech Lead at Deel, you will be responsible for technical decisions that keep the team's work efficient and in line with the right tools and strategies in place throughout the rest of the company.ResponsibilitiesOversee all projects undertaken by the team, determining technical requirements and communicating them to the teamIdentify risks and come up with contingency plansCollaborate closely with design and product teams to create extraordinary product experiencesWork closely with the Team Lead and Product Manager to ensure that the team’s work is aligned with product goals and delivery timelinesDemonstrate excellence in product-led software developmentDevelop software architecture required to implement the team’s features, meet their objectives and key results (OKRs)Provide software development expertise to team members via pair programming and code reviewTechnologies You Need to Know (3 = Strong requirement, 2 = Good skills, 1 = Familiar with)(3) Back-End Engineering:Expertise in Backend Development: Strong proficiency in Node.js, TypeScript/JavaScript best practices, along with experience in at least one other server-side language.Database Mastery: You're a SQL guru, particularly with PostgreSQL, handling query optimization, data migrations, and database modeling.Solid Grasp of OOP and Design Patterns: Strong understanding of object-oriented programming principles and design patterns, with experience in building and extending classes.Scalability Focus: Experience in designing systems for scalability, ensuring they manage rapid growth and increasing demands efficiently.High-Volume Performance: Proven expertise in optimizing systems for large transaction volumes, handling concurrency, idempotency, and performance under load.API Development: Skilled in building APIs, including input validation, JWT tokens, and ensuring security & scalability through queue-based systems.(2) DevOps Engineering:AWS or similar cloud experienceKubernetes, Helm and Docker knowledgeStrong system design and problem solving skills, we often deal with the “unknown”Strong communication skillsYou are hands-on troubleshooterYou are ready for challenges(1) Front-End Engineering:You have expert knowledge of TypeScript and React.js - particularly Class Components, Functional Components and React HooksYou have great knowledge of state management toolsYou’re an expert with the essentials, such as HTML and CSSYou’d Be a Great Fit If:You bring 10+ years of progressive engineering experience with at least 2 years working on complex projects as an individual contributor and/or “Principle” level Engineer.You possess a strong product mindset with the ability to apply it to release management instances, combining Engineering expertise with DevOps fundamentals.You thrive in a highly collaborative cross-functional environment, actively partnering with Product, Marketing, and Data teams.
