About the position

Howmet Aerospace is currently seeking a Group Leader over Wax to join our Dover Casting group in Dover, Jersey. This position is critical in overseeing daily operations for the manufacturing areas of the assigned department during the assigned shift. The Group Leader will work the Midnight Shift, which runs from Sunday Night to Thursday Night, 10 PM to 6:30 AM, with training occurring Monday through Friday on the first shift. This role is essential for ensuring that production schedules are met and that quality and productivity standards are maintained. The Group Leader will receive an hourly 'shift premium' while assigned to this off-shift, reflecting the importance of this role in our operations. In this position, the Group Leader is expected to train and assist operators in the department, schedule labor, and participate in or lead continuous improvement projects. They will also troubleshoot and communicate product and employee problems to the supervisor, ensuring that any issues are addressed promptly. The Group Leader will coordinate with the Production Planner and other supervisors to ensure that customer schedules are met, acting as a change agent and leader for new initiatives within the department. This role requires a proactive approach to implementing methods for quality and cost improvements, as well as ensuring that all necessary training is completed by the team. The Group Leader will also be responsible for managing the respective area/shift NES/hourly reports in the Time & Attendance System and participating in the performance appraisals of hourly reports by providing feedback to the Area Supervisor. Recognizing and communicating any safety, quality, productivity, and employee concerns to supervision is a key responsibility, as is ensuring fair and consistent enforcement of all company policies and procedures. The Group Leader must actively participate in seminars and training related to supervision, communications, and ongoing improvement programs, contributing to the overall success of the team and the organization.

Responsibilities

Requirements
• High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution.

• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Ability to lawfully obtain access to export-controlled items.
