The Teaching Fellowship Program The Baker Teaching Fellowship program is designed for individuals who are launching a career in urban public education. As a Teaching Fellow, you'll be paired with an experienced lead teacher and participate in a gradual release model, taking on additional responsibilities throughout the year. Our goal is to prepare you for a lead teacher position, with a salary increase to $50,000 upon successful completion of the program. Key Responsibilities Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Implement our curriculum and assess student progress. Collaborate with your team and build relationships with families. Participate in coaching and professional development sessions. Take on additional responsibilities as the year progresses. Benefits and Support As a Teaching Fellow, you'll enjoy: A full-time salary of $47,500 during the fellowship year. Free individual medical benefits (medical, dental, and vision). Qualifications To be eligible for the Teaching Fellowship program, you'll need: A bachelor's degree. Florida Teaching Certification or Equivalent (or be eligible for certification upon graduation). For primary classrooms: Florida certification in Pre-K/Primary - Grade 3 or Elementary Education K-6. For middle school classrooms: Florida certification in Elementary Education K-6 or Middle Grades 5-9 in a particular subject area. For high school: Florida certification in Secondary 6-12 in a particular subject area. A deep commitment to racial and educational equity for all children. A passing background check, as required by law. Highly Preferred Qualifications Experience as an intern, substitute, tutor, teacher's aide, or paraprofessional in a Title I school setting.
