Teacher, Special Education: Consultant Teacher – Cte
Position: TEACHER, SPECIAL EDUCATION: CONSULTANT TEACHER - CTE
TWO POSITIONS:
LOCATIONS: (1) COOPERS EDUCATION CENTER AND (1) WILDWOOD EDUCATION CENTER
Full-time (1.0 FTE), 7-hour day, 10 month, school calendar position
TCI is required for all Special Education Teacher positions (training provided upon hire)
+ Responsible for complying with state and federal regulations
+ Responsible for aligning unit plans/lessons with the NYS standards
+ Promote positive and cooperative working relationships
+ Assist in drafting appropriate annual goals and short-term objectives to present at the annual CSE meeting
+ Evaluate and re-evaluate short term objectives on a regular basis throughout the school year
+ Keep anecdotal records on student behaviors or events which may be needed for local CSE decision-making
+ Adapt and provide educational materials and activities to meet individual needs of students
+ Collaborate with all related service and support personnel to provide an integrated program that addresses students individual academic, behavioral and emotional development
+ Keep abreast of changes and developments in the field by attending professional meetings, reading professional journals and other publications
+ Consult regularly with parents, administrators, teachers, home school counselors and all others involved with the education of the student
+ Follow the adopted schedule to support students
+ Comply with all BOCES policies
+ Carry out all other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications
Valid NYS Certification in Students with Disabilities SWD 7-12 generalist; or permanent SWD K-12;

Experience with students with special needs is preferred
Salary:
Per Educational Association contract. Plus comprehensive benefits package.
