Tax Processing Staff

As a Tax Processing Staff, you will provide administrative support for tax return processing, ensuring accuracy and adherence to established guidelines while also tracking the status of submitted returns and assisting with other tax-related activities.ResponsibilitiesDeveloping an in-depth understanding of all applicable federal, state and local tax return types and assembly/filing requirementsUnderstanding and adhering to tax methodology requirements for processing tax return products and other practice-specific policiesFrequently monitoring tax processing Outlook mailboxes to retrieve tax return requestsAccurately and efficiently logging, copying/printing/assembling and distributing tax returnsIdentifying opportunities to address customer needs and participating in initiatives to improve processes and servicesApplying knowledge of the business and the industry to identify the real issues facing our clients and providing innovative and pragmatic insights and solutionsWorking overtime during peak tax-processing time framesSkillsExperience in managing full scope of tax processingStrong communication skills, both oral and writtenExcellent skills in computer/technology and tax technology applications (e.g., Adobe Acrobat, Engagement Access Database, ECF/eDocs)Aptitude to learn new applications and perform work electronically, as well as use paper media when necessaryAbility to prioritize, multitask and take responsibility for accuracy, quality and meeting deadlinesOne-plus years of related work experience; experience with tax returns a plusHigh school diploma with some college or equivalent work experienceExperience working for a professional services firmExperience working independentlyExperience working in a high-volume processing role with minimal supervisionBenefitsMedical and dental coveragePension and 401(k) plansPaid time off optionsFlexible vacation policyDesignated EY Paid HolidaysWinter/Summer breaksPersonal/Family CareOther leaves of absenceCompany OverviewEY is building a better working world by creating new value for clients, people, society, the planet, while building trust in the capital markets.
