Tax Grievance Case Negotiator (Valuation Specialist/ Remote Possible)

Job Description Job Description Position Overview We are currently seeking two (2) Real Estate Valuation Specialists / Tax Grievance Case Negotiators to join our growing team. The ideal candidates will possess a strong foundation in real estate valuation, negotiation skills, and analytical thinking. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing property valuation arguments, engaging in settlement negotiations with assessors, and supporting litigation strategy in tax certiorari proceedings. Remote Work Possible for Multiple NY Counties (Suffolk, Westchester, Orange, Rockland, Putnam, Ulster, Columbia, Sullivan, Nassau, Greene). Key Responsibilities • Conduct residential property-specific market analysis primarily using comparable sales. Familiarity with commercial property valuation using income capitalization and cost methodologies would be a plus. • Develop persuasive valuation arguments and supporting documentation • Negotiate settlements directly with municipal assessors and legal representatives • Track and manage case status updates and deadlines Qualifications • Appraiser's license, and/or Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Public Administration, or related field (preferred but not required) • Prior experience in property valuation, real estate appraisal, tax grievance, or municipal assessment is highly desirable. • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret property data, assessment rolls, and zoning records • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and case tracking abilities • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with MLS, RPS, or GIS systems is a plus • A valid New York State Real Estate License or Appraisal License is a plus, but not required Company Description Aventine Properties LLC is a rapidly growing real estate tax grievance firm serving Long Island and New York State.
