Job Title: Tandem/HP Nonstop DeveloperLocation: Alpharetta, GA, Wilmington, DE, New Jersey - Remote option is given for best candidate.Duration: Long TermJob SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Tandem Developer to design, develop, and maintain mission-critical applications running on HPE NonStop (Tandem) systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Tandem programming languages, databases, and transaction systems, with strong problem-solving skills and a focus on high availability, fault tolerance, and performance optimization.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, develop, test, and deploy applications on HP NonStop / Tandem platforms.Maintain and enhance existing applications for performance, scalability, and fault tolerance.Develop and optimize TACL scripts, TAL, COBOL, SCOBOL, C, or C++ programs.Work with Tandem databases (Enscribe, SQL/MP, SQL/MX) to write queries and improve database performance.Debug, troubleshoot, and resolve production issues in a 24/7 mission-critical environment.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (business analysts, QA, operations) to understand requirements and deliver solutions.Ensure applications comply with security, regulatory, and compliance standards (e.g., PCI DSS for payments).Document system design, processes, and operational procedures.Required Skills & QualificationsExperience in Tandem/HP NonStop application development.Proficiency in TACL scripting, TAL, COBOL, SCOBOL, C, or C++.Strong knowledge of Enscribe, SQL/MP, SQL/MX databases.Experience in transaction processing systems (e.g., BASE24, Connex) preferred.Understanding of fault-tolerant, high-availability architectures.Experience with debugging, root cause analysis (RCA), and performance tuning.Strong communication and teamwork skills.Employers have access to artificial intelligence language tools (“AI”) that help generate and enhance job descriptions and AI may have been used to create this description.
